Dancing Princesses / Von Tanzenden Prinzessinnen

I am sure I am not the only one experiencing this.
I have a million things to blog about, but I dont know where to start.

Realizing that, I actually wrote a list and slowly but surely will try to cross things of ;-)

So, today I wanna show you the beginnings of a little project that already started in January.
I think it was on Tanya's blog that I read about the Dancing Princesses first.

Kate from LiliPopo, who makes and sells the cutest embroidery patterns, decided to do a little Stitch Along. She is gonna create 6 free patterns (one every two months) of Dancing Princesses (the name comes from that fairy tale) and is willing to send it to everyone who asks for it.
She suggested to make 2 different princesses with each pattern. So, by the end of the year we will have 12 and that should be enough for a little quilt or wall hanging, right?

So, here is my first one:
Hier ist also meine erste:

I bought this hoop when I was 15 or so and I haven't used it since then. I was surprised  how fast I was done.

The next one is going to have a fabric dress.
Die nächste bekommt ein Kleid aus Stoff.

Those french knots were new to me and I think they are too cute! I also learned that you can and should split your thread.

If you wanna see more lovely princesses check out the flickr group.

Of course I had to buy some supplies ;-)

Yesterday, I recieved the 2nd pattern and she is adorable!!! I asked Kate if one of the princesses could have crossed legs (like many of her cute patterns) and she heard me!!! And I can go crazy with french knots ;-)

xxo Sana

  2. Love your dancing princess, Sana! :) And those supplies look AWESOME...the threads are beautiful. I can't wait to see your second princess. I just got the pattern yesterday..not sure when I will have time to start working on her since I will be leaving for the U.S. this coming Friday. I already have to take an embroidery hoop with me for the Wild Olive Swap..may be putting another one in my luggage and works on it. :)

  8. Oh my gosh! This is the cutest/sweetest thing ever! I would love for you to make me some tea towels with dancing princesses! It's the best having a seamstress in the family to commission pieces from :) Seriously adorable.
