TTT - Firsts

I decided that this year is gonna be the year of a lot of firsts (I know that that word doesnt exist, but it fits so nicely).
First time doing things.
First time seeing things.

I'm sure I am forgetting things, but here is all the firsts of 2012 so far:

First time hosting a giveaway.
First time taking part in a swap (nope, the charms still havent arrived).
First time making a Sorbian Easter Egg.
First time sewing a shirt! (pictures will follow)

Within the last couple of weeks I had some first time bird watching experiences:

Pigeons were nesting right in front of my kitchen window and for the first time in my life I saw a baby pigeon. I was always wondering if there is such thing as a baby pigeon cause although I live in a city full of them I had never seen little ones:

Common Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus)

Last weekend I saw that kind of bird for the first time:

It's a Cormorant or Sea Raven

He was so funny defending is little spot against the seagulls.

Unfortunately this year is also gonna be the year of a most unwelcome second! I am not going into detail here, but this is the reason why I have been a bit blog lazy and why I didnt comment as much lately. I wanna sew so many things, but I might loose inspiration once in a while. I would love to ask you to keep my family in your thoughts.

Anyways, those bad news caused me to do another crazy thing for the first time in my life:
I kidnapped my mom and spent wonderful three days with her at the Baltic Sea. I booked the hotel Thursday night and we left on Sunday following a nice birthday party for her. She had no clue ;-)
I felt really brave and we weren't disappointed! The hotel was lovely and right at the beach.
Here are a few impressions:

We used to live in a street with that name.

Two happy "campers"

xxo Sana

P.S. I am gonna be linking up to Rebecca's Thursday Think Tank.
